Pub with a Cause
There is a special look on the face of a person who has walked into Big Rock Pub for the first time – a look of awe and surprise. It is one of the best parts of being a Big Rock Pub team member. What you experience when you walk through the doors of Big Rock Pub is the result of a genuine labor of love. Every single instrument, piece of art and memorabilia was individually purchased and hung by owner, Ken Hanna. It’s obvious that Ken loves the music and its history a lot, but there’s more to it. Not too long ago, Ken lost his brother to cancer, so many of the autographed guitars you see are for sale, with all of the profits going to Desert Cancer Foundation. Desert Cancer Foundation (DCF) is the only nonprofit organization in the Coachella Valley that provides financial assistance to qualified patients in the midst of cancer screenings and treatments. Every dollar donated translates into over $10 of cancer treatment. Big Rock Pub and Indian Hills Golf Club have helped raise over $35,000 for DCF. In addition, we’ve also helped raise thousands of dollars for other local charities. It means a lot knowing we are and will continue to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors!
